Top 3 Fancy Restaurants || Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

One of my absolute favourite things to do for special occasions is head out to a fancy restaurant. Not only is it always a great night full of delicious food and cocktails but you get to dress up in a gorgeous dress and heels too!

I’m not going to lie, it’s definitely an expensive outing, but I have never looked back and thought it wasn’t worth it. Besides, I’ve convinced myself that you need to treat yourself every once in a while!

I’ve been to my fair share of fancy restaurants over the past few years so I thought I would share with you (in no order) my top 3 favourites:

Tetsuyas

Oh my gosh, this restaurant is amazing! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday last year and I cannot wait to go back. This restaurant makes the most incredible Japanese food and the matching wines are of course delicious too. My absolute favourite dish was the Ocean trout. I’m a massive fan of ‘raw’ fish, so I thought this was just insanely good.

By the end of the night, when we had one dish left I told the waiter I would skip the wine as I was going to need to drive later but he wouldn’t let me, he told me, and I quote ‘this wine is worth losing your license over’ and, although I didn’t lose my license (thank god), I have bought several bottles of this amazing dessert wine since.

It was such a beautiful restaurant, but oh my god you could definitely tell who the ‘rich’ people were. Whilst we were dressed to the nines, there were tables of people in jeans and t-shirts who you could tell were just there for their casual Sunday night dinner! But this was such a special night for us and I definitely think we appreciated it so much more because this was something we don’t get to do very often!

Once again, I adored this restaurant. This restaurant is inside the Opera House so the location is on point. I believe this was the first night we went fine dining and it smashed our expectations. I could not fault anything about this night. The duck was cooked to perfection and the pavlova was to die for.  I know what you’re thinking… how good can a pav be? Well I guess you’ll have to go and try for yourself!

Nobu

Now I haven’t actually been to this restaurant in Australia, the one I visited was in Dubai and this is where my boyfriend and I fell in love with Japanese food. Not only was the food outstanding, but the people were lovely, as soon as we walked in everyone was calling out a Japanese greeting and handing us the most delicious cocktails and of course that is the best way to win me over. Their signature dish is a Black Cod with Miso and I am so glad the waiter convinced us to order it because it is some of the best food I have eaten! We have looked for similar dishes in Sydney and the closest we have found is at Sokyo in The Star so I think I will have to head to Melbourne and visit the Australian Nobu; fingers crossed it is just as good!

Be sure to leave a comment with some of your favourite restaurants in Australia (or around the world) so I can check them out – I’m always on the hunt for delicious food!!!
